Note: as is this plan is flawed and wont work right now but I'm trying to figure something out.
This plan would involve everyone involved to act as both art dealer and artist.
A black and white disposable portfolio will be constructed containing samples of everyones artwork.
A copy of the disposable portfolio, a cd-r containing all the files needed for reprinting and a copy of a contract will be sent to everyone involved.
Everyone must take the disposable portfolio (and copies of) to your local art galleries, studios etc.
You will be trying to sell your own artwork as well as someone elses. Observe the clients needs and try to suggest certain artist to them.
As an art dealer you will receive 25% of the pay. Your own style probable wont be suitable for every client. So if the client isn't interested in your own style show them someone elses, that way you'll have a second chance to make a bit of money.
Note: if it's an ongoing job where the artist will receive several cheques, the dealer shall recieve 25% of first pay cheque.
As an artist you'll recieve 75% of the pay. You'll have to sacrifice 25% of your pay to the dealer for finding the job for you but it's worth it to have extra pairs of legs to help find work for you.
Galleries in Toronto will sell art for $300 and up. Getting a piece into a gallery to sell at this price means Dealer gets $75 while artist gets $225.
Note this project is a work in progress, feel free to give advice on how to make this work properly.
