Scale tutorial

1; Using Pencil Crayon choose a darker shade (I used terracotta red because the dragon was red) draw abunch of over lapping Vs. Colour the Vs in with your darker shade (ex. Terracotta red). Colour harder near the point of the V but colour softer as you get to the wider part of the V.
2. Now switch to a Crayon choose a lighter colour (like plain old red) and colour over everything. Don't worry you should be able to see your Vs through the crayon.
3. Now choose another crayon that is a darker shade and use this to add the shading to the dragon. You know so the leg/arm/neck looks a little round instead of flat.
4. Take a white prisma colour pencil crayon to add some highlights to some of the scales
5. If you want to add more depth to the scales use some black ink/pen on the darker part of the scales. I started doing this but because your using pen on crayon, wax builds up on the nib and blocks the ink flow so the pen doesn't work so well after awhile. And it was a crappy pen anyway.
